Miss Shelly

 Hi, I am Shelly Hockenberry, I started at CCC in 2021 and I am the teacher assistant in the Little Lions infant room. I have cared for children in my home for many years before coming to Charger Child Care.  I feel as though I have found the right place for me to be working with the babies.

My husband is Brain and we have two daughters and 1 grandson and two new babies on the way.  We like to camp, ride 4 wheelers and snow sleds.  I like to work in my flower garden but most of all just being with my family.

Hi, I’m Darci McLaughlin. I am Charger Child Care’s Assistant Director and I am also the teacher of the 2 – 3 year olds. I have been with Charger Child Care since September 2011. I graduated from Cambridge High School and then attended Black Hawk College for two years, and graduated with my Associate Degree in Early Childhood Development.  In 2008 I moved to the Sherrard area, and in 2009 I married Doug McLaughlin. In 2011 we bought a house in New Windsor where we currently live with our two children. I started working in child care in 2008. Since then I have worked with infants, toddlers and school age children, both as a teacher and an assistant director. I enjoy the busyness of the classroom and environment, and meeting all of our local families.

I am Beth McAvoy the Owner and Director of Charger Child Care, Inc. I earned an Associates Degree in Early Childhood Education over 40 years ago. Since then I have worked in many centers from very small to very large, in every capacity from cook to director. My dream of owning and operating my own center has come true. Charger Child Care was born, January 21, 2008, which also happens to be our youngest son’s birthday! My husband, Audi, and I have been married for over 39 years. We have three grown children; two sons and a daughter and daughter in-law and two beautiful little granddaughters! Our family moved to Orion in November of 2000. Before that, Audi was in the USAF and we traveled a little. We lived in Biloxi Mississippi, Fairbanks Alaska, Washington D.C., and Rochelle Illinois.
